Work Laptop Reviews
Let us now a bit deeper into the selected notebooks. We will go from the cheapest to most expensive work laptops.
1. HP Pavilion X360 15.6 – Budget Laptop – Core I3
This is one of the cheapest work laptop that we recommend.
Sure there are cheaper laptops than this available in the market.
However, for work purposes we would not recommend going for anything less powerful than a core i3.
This laptop offers Core i3-8130U processor from the latest generation. This is a fairly decent processor and much more powerful than its predecessors from the 7th generation.
Besides a good processor, this notebooks also offers a unique combination of RAM with 4 GB conventional RAM and 16 GB of the latest Intel Optane RAM. Storage wise, it offers 1 TB of HDD this is a fairly large amount, albeit SSDs are always the better option for work related notebooks.
One of the best feature about this laptop is the 2-in-1 convertible feature. This laptop has a beautiful Full HD IPS touchscreen that can flip on top of the keyword to act as a tablet.
Couple that with the Digital Pen and you get a machine built for drawing, taking notes etc.
This is the best work laptop for those whose work revolves around word processing, data entry, accounting, writing, researching, email correspondence etc.
This isn’t a laptop that you would use for work like editing, photography or simulations. It is not so powerful to handle editing tasks.
If you looking for simple laptops for word processing instead, then read this.

While not truly a ‘budget’ laptop, when you are considering purchasing a ‘work’ related laptop, then relatively speaking, this is quite affordable.
This laptop is excellent if you want a seamless performance for your work experience. It is designed to deliver smoothly not just on casual office related softwares, but also on somewhat heavier softwares like photo editing.
Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 features Intel Core i5-8265U processor. This is a power efficient processor that is not just capable of delivering great performance, but also conserves battery when in low demand.
Unlike its counter part from the previous generation, i.e Core i5-7200U, this isn’t a dual core processor. Instead, it is a quad core processor and thus has almost 30% better performance in comparison.
Besides that, this laptop offers 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD. Both of these components are excellent and adequate for this price range. Sure the 256 GB is not a lot of storage as compared to 1 TB HDD, but any pro would choose SSD over HDD in a heartbeat.
All in all, this is certainly the best work laptop for most professionals who work on typical office related work.

Therefore, you must be certain that you have a fairly high demanding work to justify paying for this machine.
This is an All-in-one laptop that offers a beautiful Full HD IPS Touchscreen that is capable of studio work. It offers a decent Intel Core i5-8250U processor. This is the same processor we saw in Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 above.
This is a highly capable processor that can even out perform the Core i7-7500U of the previous generation. What sets this laptop apart from Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 is the overall configuration.
Lenovo Yoga 730 offers a large 16 GB of RAM and a whopping 512 GB of SSD. That is a lot of SSD for a laptop of this price. Generally you have to settle for a combination of HDD + SSD. However, this laptop offers the storage in pure SSD.
The 16 GB RAM is also a welcoming feature for those who are into video editing and rendering work.
All in all, while this is still not the cream of the working laptops, this is the best work laptop for those who are seeking a well optimized and fairly high performance machine.

ASUS VivoBook K570UD is, hands-down, the best work laptop in the market for those who require a powerful machine that offers the best value for money.
For starters, it offers a beautiful 15.6″ Full HD IPS screen. IPS is generally the way to go for those who seek beautiful color reproduction.
Beyond that, it offers a powerful Intel Core i7-8550U processor. This is a power efficient quad core processor with hyper threading enabled. It has a max clock speed of 4 GHz per core and base speed of 1.80 GHz.
Basically, when in idle condition, it would run at lower frequency and consume less battery power. However, when you need to run demanding software, it can take its speed all the way to 4 GHz.
Besides that, it also offers a great combination of 256 GB of SSD and 1 TB of HDD. The SSD can be used for storing most used apps and the Operating System. The HDD can be used to store multimedia.
Top top this all up, ASUS VivoBook K570UD offers a mid range NIVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card. You should be able to run most games at mid graphics fairly easily.
6. Lenovo ThinkPad P52s – Mobile Workstation
Before you look into this laptop, know that this is a super expensive machine built specifically as a mobile workstation.
They serve a completely different function as compared to the conventional laptops we saw above.
Lenovo ThinkPad P52s is one of the best work laptops if you work on 3D modeling, engineering simulation, scientific computing that require floating point operations or Silver Screen grade 3D multimedia creation.
While most of the core hardware is similar to conventional laptops, they differ when it comes to their installed GPUs. This particular laptop offers the NVIDIA Quadro P500 GPU instead of the normal GTX graphics card.
The Quadro graphics card are specifically designed for CAD related work.
Besides that, it offers a powerful Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 32 GB RAM, a whopping 1 TB of SSD and a beautiful 15.6″ IPS screen.
In the end, the best work laptop for you is the one that meets your needs and your budget. There aren’t laptops built specifically for ‘work’ as a category.
Instead, you will find certain laptops that are good for office work, others that are great for studio work, yet some that are great at engineering. You, as a buyer, have to be mindful of your requirements.
