Just a note though, you should not expect high end features like Freesync 2 or WQHD resolution from these monitors.
#1. HP VH240a – 24 Inch – Affordable, Gorgeous, and Functional
Not only does this monitor look gorgeous, it belongs to one of the top monitors brands in the world.
As far as the current generation of monitor goes, this is one of the top selling and highly reviewed monitor.
This is the only monitor at this price range that offers an ergonomic stand. Therefore, you can tilt it, swivel it, rotate it to portrait mode and also adjust its height.
As far as the looks are concerned, this monitor is quite remarkable for its price.
It offers fairly slim bezels and a beautifully crafted stand that has a very small footprint. The VESA mounting capability allows this monitor to be hooked up to a wall or dedicated monitor arms.
This, along with its price tag, makes it quite a lucrative deal for multiple monitor setup.
The monitor offers a single HDMI port along with a VGA port. This isn’t much, however, it is just right.
HDMI can be used to connect to multitude of devices whereas the VGA port can be used for interfacing with older computer
The only major drawback of this monitor is that it has a relatively slow response time of 7 ms making it less ideal for professional gamers. If you are just a casual gamer, you wouldn’t really notice much of a difference.
However, for home and office work, this is a beautiful display with an HDMI port. We highly recommend this monitor as one of the best cheap monitors with HDMI input.
#2. Dell S2418H – 24 Inch – Jack of All Trades
The only reason this is not listed as #1 top pick is because it is a bit more expensive than the rest of the monitors here.
Firstly, this monitor is a great looking display. It offers a virtually frameless design with an elegant base that harbors 12 Watts stereo system.
As far as the built in sound is concerned, this monitor has one of the best.
Besides that this monitor offers a plethora of features. For editors and designers, this monitor offers a color rich IPS panel that covers 99% of the sRGB color space.
It also boasts the the latest HDR 10 feature that enhances the amount of color on the screen.
Furthermore, for gamers, this monitor offers AMD FreeSync which eliminates the unwanted screen tear and screen stutter issues.
These occur when there is a de-syncrhonization between the frame rate of the PC and the refresh rate of the monitor. You will need to have an AMD graphics card in order to utilize this feature though.
Unfortunately, this monitor does not have an Ergonomic stand or VESA mounting capability.
This cheap monitor with HDMI input is simply the jack of all trades. Unfortunately, it is not the cheapest option available.

#3. Sceptre E248W-19203R – 24 Inch – Amazon’s Best Choice – 2 x HDMI – Cheapest Monitor with HDMI
Having one HDMI port is good enough but having two is a great blessing.
Since HDMI is such a common port for interfacing with other devices, you can hook up two devices to this monitor at the same time.
You can have your PC connected to one and your gaming console to the other. You would switch between just as you would switch between channels on a TV.
The monitor not only offers two HDMI port, but also offers VGA and Audio out port.
VGA port is necessary for older systems that do not feature an HDMI output at all.
Along with that, it offers 75 Hz refresh rate. Conventional monitors have a refresh of 60 Hz. The higher 75 Hz refresh not only helps your eyes but is also essential for smoother motions.
This monitor also offers speakers but I wouldn’t expect much from them. They are great for notifications or for occasional use.
Although this monitor lacks an ergonomic stand, it does have VESA mounting holes. Therefore, you can mount this monitor on a wall or on dedicated ergonomic monitor arms.
This monitor is not the most aesthetically appealing monitor in the market, however, it does have thin bezels. This matters for multiple monitor setup.
The response time of 5 ms would be a bummer for some gamers, however, most will not care about this much.
Plus 5 ms response time is normal for IPS monitors. On the bright side, you get to enjoy better color since IPS panels have better colors than TN or VA panels of the same price category.
All in all, if you can get past the fact that this is a lesser known brand, then this certainly one of the best cheap monitors with HDMI input.
#4. Acer GF246 bmipx – 24 Inch – Gaming Display with HDMI Port
On the surface it is a budget gaming monitor, but it is suitable for almost all environments and scenarios imaginable.
This is a budget display but at the same time it offers VGA, HDMI as well as the much coveted DisplayPort. Thus, this monitor can interface with majority of the devices out there.
Acer GF246 bmipx also offers several other sweet features like 75 Hz refresh rate – which is higher than average 60 Hz. The higher the refresh rate of the monitor, the happier the gaming experience.
Higher refresh rates makes the motion smoother. However, you do have to make sure that your gaming hardware is powerful enough to pump out 75 frame per second.
Since this monitor has a TN panel, this monitor offers 1 ms response time.
This is the fastest response time possible for monitors and it is an essential feature for gamers.
Response time is directly related to the ghosting effect. This is an effect that leaves a temporary artifacts behind fast moving objects.
Like the rest of the monitors in this list, this monitor also offers Blue Light Filter, which is not only great for prolonged gaming sessions, but also for prolonged working sessions.
Blue Light Filter reduces the stress on your eyes.
It also boasts 2x2W stereo speakers and an Audio out port for easily connecting your audio devices.
The only relative drawback of this monitor is that it features TN panel instead of IPS. TN panels suffer from shorter viewing angles and have inferior colors as compared to an IPS panel.

#5. ViewSonic VA2446MH-LED – 24 Inch – MVA Panel
Take any category you want, you will definitely find Viewsonic leading in terms of performance per dollar value.
What this monitor offers is simply the most functional and essential features that you may need on a limited budget.
It offers an HDMI, VGA, Audio in and Audio out ports. As far the connectivity is concerned, that is more than enough at this price rage.
However, this monitor goes beyond that by offering not an IPS or a TN panel but an MVA panel.
The MVA panel offers 3 times as much static contrast ratio than IPS and TN panel. At the same time it supports a decent response time of 5 ms.
This is perhaps the least appealing monitor in this list in terms of design. However, this monitor has garnered excellent reviews from its customers.
If you want to buy an affordable display that has been tried and tested by thousands of customers, then this is one of the highly recommended cheap monitor with HDMI input.
#6. Acer R240HY bidx – 24 Inch – Elegant Frameless Monitor
This means that its price tag is lingering near $100 price range. That is quite the bargain given the specs that it has.
Unlike the Acer GF246 bmipx above, this does not feature a DisplayPort or a 75 Hz refresh rate.
Fortunately though, it also costs a lot less and offers an IPS panel Display. This is good news for those who prefer good colors.
The first thing that you will notice is that for this price, this monitor has an outstanding design. From its slim bezels on three sides to the small circular base, this monitor is great to look at.
This monitor features the vivid IPS panel but not the one that has slow response time. Instead, the IPS panel on this display gives a pretty fast 4 ms response time.
Along with that, it has all the great connectivity options like HDMI, VGA as well as DVI ports.
With a decent looking design, great features and awesome price tag, this display could be the winner for some of you.
#7. AOC 27B1H – Recommended 27 Inch
What if you wanted the perfect 27 inch monitor that is cheap, great looking, has an HDMI port and much more.
Well that is where AOC 27B1H seems to win the day.
If the looks of the monitor hasn’t sold you already, you will be sold by its specs. It offers an HDMI and a VGA port.
Along with that it has a Flicker Free IPS panel that offers vivid colors thanks to the proprietary AOC ClearVision technology.
